Permanently installed cooling pipes cast mainly in concrete or sand. The installation can be turnkey contracting with a complete line of services, such as gravel filling, insulation, and concrete casting. We can also supply draining canals for melt waters for ice hockey halls.
Permanent ice track construction includes frost protection pipes, cooling pipes, distribution and collection mains, and applicable joint parts. We prefer polyethylene pipes and use muffle or pressure welding when building ice tracks.
Permanent ice tracks suit ice hockey arenas and other indoor or outdoor ice areas. Typical ice pad construction can be the following kind:
- At the bottom is foundation soil, and above, gravels fill.
- Frost protection pipes embed in gravel /sand fill, and the insulation layer is above them.
- Cooling pipes installation is in a concrete slab on top of the reinforcement steel.
- Cooling pipes bound together with concrete reinforcement.
- The most common surface material is concrete.
The rink pipes are laid in U-shape and connected to the distribution and collection mains. Distribution and collection mains are situated outside the ice area along the short or long side. Distribution and collection mains are in connection with the refrigeration unit. In ice hockey halls, distribution and collection mains are typically located canal lower than floor level and covered by protective metal or wood shields.

- drain system acts as a mold during the concrete casting and helps to achieve exact level measurements
- other floor drains can be connected to the system
- it collects melting water from the ice area
- it works as a buffer for the thermal expansion/contraction of concrete slabs
